Pontiac Theater IV is excited to announce auditions for Rodger and Hammerstein’s magical musical Cinderella.
It’s the classic fairy tale you know and love, with the classic songs from the classic Broadway duo like “In My Own Little Corner”, “Impossible”, “Do I love You Because Your Beautiful”, and more.
Auditions will be Sunday April 16th from 6:30PM to 9:30PM and Tuesday April 18th from 7:00PM to 9:30PM. With callbacks on Wednesday April 19th from 7:00PM to 9:00PM.
PERFORMANCE DATES:
July 21st, 22nd, 28th, and 29th.
Auditions will be held at Central United Methodist Chruch (3882 Highland Rd, Waterford, MI 48328-2329, United States)

MUSIC: Please familiarize yourself with the song or songs listed in the character description. A song cut will be supplied at auditions for that character.
DANCE: Everyone will also learn a small dance combination so please wear comfortable shoes (not flip flops) and clothes.
READINGS: Cuts from the script. If time permits, we will do readings day of auditions. If not, they will be done at Call backs.

+ELLA (Cinderella) (Female, 20s, Soprano, Any Ethnicity) Kindhearted beauty with an infectious generosity of spirit. Though she has been flying under the radar she comes fully into herself as an articulate dynamic woman with a great deal to say Traditional musical theatre soprano. SONG: MY OWN LITTLE CORNER & DRIVING THROUGH THE MOONLIGHT
+TOPHER (Male, 20s – early 30s, Baritone, Any Ethnicity) The prince of the kingdom leads with heroic bravado but deeply naïve and not always quick on the draw. In search of his purpose. His kindhearted nature spills into an endearing goofiness at times. Light comedic touch essential. Soaring, rich musical theatre baritone to G. SONG: ME WHO AM I & LOVELINESS OF THE EVENING
+MADAME (Female, Late 40s – 50s, Mezzo-Soprano, Any Ethnicity) Ella’s selfish stepmother. A vain and tyrannical climber. Deeply concerned with status and image and entirely dismissive of her stepdaughter. Comic timing essential. Traditional musical theatre character voice. SONG: STEP-SISTERS LAMENT
+GABRIELLE (Female, 20s – 30s, Mezzo-Soprano, Any Ethnicity) Ella’s stepsister and daughter of Madame. Begins aligned with her materialistic mother and sister but her kindness and thoughtful nature emerge as she is affected by Ella and love interest John-Michel. Perhaps a bit quirky and cut from a different mold than the social climbers around her. Comic timing is essential. Strong and expressive traditional musical theatre voice. SONG: STEP-SISTERS LAMENT
+CHARLOTTE (Female, Late 20s – 30s, Mezzo-Soprano, Any Ethnicity) Ella’s stepsister and daughter of Madame. Deeply self-involved, attention seeker. Loud, brash and delights in being cocky. Lacks self-awareness and often the last one in on the joke. Excellent comic timing required. Traditional musical theatre character belt to F. SONG: STEP-SISTERS LAMENT
+MARIE (Female, 40s – 60s, Soprano, Any Ethnicity) First presents as a bag lady but is revealed as Ella’s fairy godmother in disguise. Warm with a spark of wackiness she lifts the magic in the show and highlights what is possible! Soaring traditional musical theatre soprano to G. SONG: THERES MUSIC IN YOU
+JEAN MICHEL (Male, 20s – 30s, Any Ethnicity) An enthusiastic revolutionary determined to make a difference. Energized and on his way to becoming a leader. Great comic timing. Traditional musical theatre voice. SONG: NOW IS THE TIME
+SEBASTIAN (Male, 40s – 60s, Any Ethnicity) Topher’s Lord Chancellor. He actively shields the prince from what is occurring in his kingdom and revels in maintaining his own power. Disregarding villagers in need he is primarily concerned with preserving the wealthy and the reach of his power. Fantastic comic timing essential. Traditional musical theatre character voice. SONG: ME WHO AM I
+LORD PINKELTON (Male, 30s – 50s, Tenor, Any Ethnicity) Sebastian’s second-in- command and the herald for all balls and events. Announces royal balls, banquets and even the weather. Excellent comic timing is essential. Traditional musical theatre tenor. SONG: PRINCE IS GIVING A BALL
+ENSEMBLE (Any Gender, Ages 6-99, looking for 6 males 6 female identifying performers or more) the villagers/knights/guests at the ball mice/horses/Peasants/Footman & Coachman/Giant & other areas needed enhance the show. SONG: TEN MINUTES AGO
+FOOTMAN & COACHMAN (Any Gender, Any age) Transformed from a Fox and Raccoon into a Handsome Footman & Coachman seeking two performers with excellent tumbling and gymnastic abilities will be taken from ensemble. IF INTERESTED IN THESE ROLES PLESE LET DIRECTOR KNOW AND BE PREPAIRED TO SHOW TUMBLING AT AUDITIONS. SONG: TEN MINUTES AGO
+Featured Dancers- strong dancers will be pulled from ensemble to be showcased in some Musial numbers. ballet/pointe/tap could be a possibility bring all your specialty shoes at auditions.
+Giant Very tall ensemble member. Will be on painter’s stilts (will be pulled from ensemble).
