Pontiac Theatre IV is pleased to announce our 2018-2019 Season. The season includes two Theatre IV favorites, a classic comedy, a new courtroom drama and a cutting edge comedy being performed at the Pontiac Little Art Theatre (PLAT).
Leading off the season will be The Bible – The Complete Word of God (abridged) by Adam Long, Reed Martin & Austin Tichenor, with additional material by Matthew Croke will be performed at the PLAT On August 31, September 1, 7 and 8, 2018. The PLAT is located at 47 North Saginaw Street. The show features Mack Shaw, Scott Talas and Brandon Toncray and is Produced by Steven M. Cunningham and Jen Talas. Both producers will also be working as consulting directors. This show is presented through special arrangement with Broadway Play Publishing.
Next up will be a Theatre IV favorite The Rocky Horror Show with Book, Music and Lyrics by Richard O’Brien. The show will be produced at Pontiac High School, and will run three weekends and six performances. Auditions will be held July 22 at 4:00 pm, 23 and 25 at 7:00 pm at the Michigan School for the Arts. Performances will take place October 26, 27, November 2, 3, 9, 10, 2018 at 8:00 pm. The show will be Produced by Steven M. Cunningham and AmandaJane Schade-Rhodes, Directed by Steven M. Cunningham, Music Direction will be by Richard Adler, Choreography by Sharon Heltsley and the Assistant Director will be Matthew Cross. Following “Rocky” we will be presenting another Theatre IV favorite, this one for the entire family, Charlotte’s Web by Joseph Robinette based on the children’s classic by E. B. White. Charlotte’s Web will be performed at The Michigan School for the Arts for six performances on January 18, 19, 25, 26 2019. The auditions will be on November 4 at 4:00 pm and November 5 and 7 at 7:00 pm. This show will be cast with both children (as the children and the animals) and adults. Everyone is welcome to audition. Charlotte’s Web is Directed by Cody Barger, the Assistant Director is Dwaine Estes, Kendra Stankiewicz is the Stage Manager and the show will be Produced by John Tonner. The production is presented by special arrangement with Dramatic Publishing.
Our second show in 2019 will be a theatre classic that Theatre IV has looked forward to producing for a number of years, You Can’t Take It With You by Moss Hart and George S. Kaufman and produced by special arrangement with Dramatists Play Service. The production venue has not been determined, but will be announced. The show will take place on March 29, 30 and April 5 ,6, 2019. Auditions will be held on Jan 20, 2019 at 4:00 pm and January 21, 23 at 7:00 pm at The Michigan School for the Arts. You Can’t Take It With You is directed by AmandaJane Schade-Rhodes.
Disney’s Mulan, Jr will be presented next. The show has Music and Lyrics by Matthew Wilder and David Zippel,Stephen Schwartz, Jeanine Tesori and Alexa Junge, the music was adapted and arranged with additional Music and Lyrics by Bryan Louiselle. The book was adapted and additional lyrics are by Patricia Cotter and the show is based on the 1998 Disney film “Mulan” and the story “Fa Mulan” by Robert D. San Souci. Disney’s Mulan, Jr will be directed by Laura Johns with auditions scheduled for February 3 at 4:00 pm and February 4, 6, 2019 at 7:00 pm.
Performances will be at The Michigan School for the Arts May 10, 11, 12 17, 18, 19 with times to be announced. The show is produced by special arrangement with Music Theatre International
Our final show of the season will be based on the John Grisham novel A Time to Kill adapted for the stage by Rupert Holmes. The show will be produced in by special arrangement with Playscripts, Inc. The show will be presented on July 12, 13, 19, 20, 2019 at 8:00 pm. Audition dates are scheduled for May 20, 22 and 23 2019 at The Michigan School for the Arts. The show will be directed by Steven M. Cunningham.
